Miyakma ‘21

$70.00

In 2021, we had access to a second pick of a 30 year old Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard, directly 10 miles east of Chenoa’s family’s property on the sloping ridges of the Eastern Mayacama range, situated on the acclaimed Rutherford dust. We spent 3 days handpicking this site, walking atop Mars like soils, submerging ourselves into the upper canopy of the vines where beautiful, tight clusters dangled in the leaves shade. A laborious but rewarding process, we harvested 1000lbs in the scorching harvest heat, and gleaned fruit that would have otherwise been forgotten. The clusters ripened slow and evenly, resulting in a fruit forward yet completely dry, medium bodied Cab.

Miyakma, also known as Maiya'kma, is the indigenous word given to the Mayacama Mountain range by the Wappos, and means howling mountain lion, a presence that has encompassed the valley’s for thousands of years.

Destemmed and crushed into open top fermenters, where it fermented to dry, then pressed in French neutral Oak where it aged for 14 months.

No additions or subtractions. Unfined, unfiltered.
