Methuselah ‘22

$40.00

Our most ancient cuvee to date, these vines are historical markers and a true reflection of Old California. The Pais site was discovered by us in the Russian River Valley. Studies revealed that the original plantings of Pais in Sonoma County were brought by Russians via Peru in the 1800s, and this specific site is one of the only plantings left in Russian River Valley. The 97 year old Grenache was planted on the eastern slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains by Italian immigrants, as was the Carignan in Mendocino. Named after the oldest tree in the world that resides in Eastern California, Methuselah.

Grenache fermented 50% whole cluster, the Mission was direct pressed and co-fermented on destemmed Carignan. The wines were homogenized in tank post-fermentation then aged in neutral oak for 11 months.

No additions or subtractions. Unfined, unfiltered.
